BEKI BRIGHT

Beki Bright is a London-based textile designer and screen printer who creates artisanal textiles and wallcoverings for interiors that celebrate the English countryside. Having grown up in rural Suffolk and spending more recent years living in Somerset, she draws inspiration from these surroundings and the landscapes that encompass them. Beki's lived experiences of these geographies have led to a fascination with English folklore, county crafts, and rituals of the countryside all of which inform her work. Her designs, characterized by distinctive drawings of sweeping landscapes, rolling hills, corn dollies and harvest celebrations combined with strong colour stories, are intended to evoke lasting connections and memories that will bring the ‘spirit of place’ into everyday life. Beki screen prints all of her designs by hand in London on a linen and cotton base cloth that is woven in England. A very small production chain allows her to oversee every aspect of her process from concept to completion, resulting in minimal waste. Off-cuts are repurposed into samples or used for packaging.
